About Nosam Kennels

Nosam Kennels is a German Shorthaired Pointer and Vizsla breeder located in Greensburg, Kentucky, producing well-bred puppies with the health, temperament, structure, natural ability, and trainability to succeed in the field and at home. Our breeding program is built around more than pedigrees or appearance. We carefully select health-tested, proven dogs that complement one another, with the goal of producing confident, trainable GSPs and Vizslas that maintain the purpose and versatility these sporting breeds were developed for.

Proven Dogs. Purposeful Breeding.

We believe breeders should health-test and prove dogs, not simply breed them because they are registered or have a desirable pedigree.

We evaluate our dogs through AKC Hunt Tests and NAVHDA, with many also competing in Conformation and performance sports. These venues let us evaluate hunting ability, trainability, temperament, structure, movement, and versatility before making breeding decisions.  We don't believe one title or one health test tells the whole story. Most of our breeding dogs are proven across multiple venues, often earning multiple hunting titles alongside conformation and performance titles, before we consider them for our breeding program. Nosam Kennels is an AKC Breeder of Merit for both Vizslas & GSPS, a member of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, and has produced a NAVHDA Natural Ability Breeder Award litter. We don't title our dogs to collect letters. We do it to learn more about the dogs we're breeding. Every venue gives us another piece of information about how they hunt, how they're built, how they handle pressure, how they train, and how they perform. That investment happens before a litter is ever born. We have hunted and guided over our own dogs, giving us the opportunity to see them work beyond a training field or test weekend. Every venue and every day spent hunting over them gives us more information about the dogs we're breeding: their natural ability, trainability, temperament, structure, endurance, cooperation, and ability to perform the jobs their breed was developed to do.

Raised Differently.

Located on 50 acres in Central Kentucky, our dogs have room to run, train, hunt, swim, and develop into the versatile sporting dogs they were bred to be. Our property includes a pond and dock-diving pool, giving our dogs and puppies opportunities for water exposure, swimming, retrieving, and confidence building, while nearby training grounds allow us to regularly work our dogs beyond our property.

We raise our puppies with Puppy Culture, Early Neurological Stimulation, early handling and grooming, crate foundations, age-appropriate training, and plenty of opportunities to explore and learn. Whether a Nosam puppy is headed for an active family, the bird field, hunt tests, dog sports, or the show ring, our goal is the same: a healthy, capable dog with the temperament, trainability, and versatility to thrive.

And our support doesn’t end at pickup. Nosam families have continued access to breeder support, training resources, and guidance throughout their dog’s life.
