About Nosam Kennels
Nosam Kennels proudly breeds German Shorthaired Pointers (GSPs) and Hungarian Vizslas with the goal of producing dogs that excel both in the field and in the home. Founded in 2014, we are a small, family-operated kennel built on a passion for preserving and advancing these exceptional, versatile hunting breeds.
Our mission is simple: to produce healthy, structurally correct dogs with outstanding temperaments, natural hunting ability, and the versatility to thrive as devoted family companions and driven sporting partners.
Every dog in our breeding program is carefully selected based on health, temperament, structure, working ability, and pedigree. We believe responsible breeding begins long before puppies are born, which is why all of our breeding dogs undergo extensive health testing appropriate for their breed. By prioritizing genetic health and soundness alongside performance and temperament, we strive to produce puppies with the best possible foundation for long, active lives.
Our dogs are proven performers, competing successfully in AKC Hunt Tests, NAVHDA, Dock Diving, Fast CAT, Conformation, Rally, Obedience, and other performance events. They have earned numerous accomplishments, including the NAVHDA Natural Ability Breeders Award, as well as producing offspring that have consistently ranked among the nation's top competitors in obedience, rally, and performance sports.
With over a decade of hands-on gundog training experience, we've had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of hunting breeds and countless bloodlines within our own. This experience has given us a deep understanding of the traits that consistently produce dogs with exceptional drive, biddability, intelligence, and trainability. By carefully selecting and building upon these qualities, we've developed a breeding program focused on producing dogs that are not only talented in the field but also adaptable, eager to learn, and a pleasure to live with.
Located in Greensburg, Kentucky, our dogs enjoy over 50 acres of daily exercise, swimming, bird work, and training. We also own Covey Quest Preserve, an 85-acre hunting preserve located just six miles from our home, allowing our dogs year-round opportunities to develop and maintain their natural abilities.
As proud members of the GSPCA and recognized AKC Breeders of Merit, we remain committed to continually improving our breeding program while preserving the qualities that make these breeds so exceptional.
Our puppies are raised using Puppy Culture principles, providing early neurological development, structured socialization, confidence-building experiences, and age-appropriate enrichment to prepare them for success in their future homes. Every Nosam puppy is backed by lifetime breeder support because we believe our commitment extends far beyond go-home day.

Our Process
Secure Your Spot
Reserve your puppy early by joining our waiting list with a deposit. This reserves your place for available puppies and allows you to note your preferences, such as sex or color. Your deposit does not guarantee a specific puppy, as we carefully match each pup to the family that fits them best based on temperament and lifestyle. We do not operate on a first-come, first-served basis—our focus is on creating the perfect match for both puppy and family.
Puppy Evaluations
Once puppies are born, we begin careful evaluations of each pup’s temperament, drive, and personality. This helps us understand which families they will thrive with and ensures the best possible match. While you can note your preferences for sex or color, our priority is always finding the puppy whose personality fits your home and lifestyle. This thoughtful process sets the stage for a lifelong bond between puppy and family.
