About Nosam Kennels
Nosam Kennels is a German Shorthaired Pointer and Vizsla breeder located in Greensburg, Kentucky, focused on producing versatile bird dogs with the health, temperament, structure, natural ability, and trainability to succeed both in the field and at home.
Our breeding program is built around more than pedigrees or appearance. We carefully select dogs that complement one another with the goal of producing healthy, confident, trainable dogs that maintain the purpose and versatility these breeds were developed for.
Proven Dogs. Purposeful Breeding.
We believe breeding dogs should be health tested and proven, not simply bred because they are registered or have a desirable pedigree.
Our dogs are evaluated through AKC Hunt Tests and NAVHDA, with many also competing in AKC Conformation and performance sports. These venues give us opportunities to evaluate hunting ability, trainability, temperament, structure, movement, and versatility before making breeding decisions. Nosam Kennels is an AKC Breeder of Merit for both Vizslas & GSPS, a member of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, and has produced a NAVHDA Natural Ability Breeder Award litter.
Raised Differently.
Located on 50 acres in Central Kentucky, our dogs have room to run, train, hunt, swim, and develop into the versatile sporting dogs they were bred to be. Access to nearby training grounds and hunting opportunities allows us to regularly work our dogs beyond our own property. Our puppies are raised with Puppy Culture, Early Neurological Stimulation, early handling and grooming, crate foundations, age-appropriate training, and exposure to new experiences designed to help prepare them for life beyond our home.
Whether a Nosam puppy is headed for an active family, the upland field, hunt tests, dog sports, or the show ring, our goal remains the same: produce a healthy, capable dog with the temperament and versatility to thrive with its family.
Our relationship with our puppy families doesn't end at pickup. We provide continued breeder support, training resources, and guidance throughout the dog's life.

We occasionally have German Shorthaired Pointer and Vizsla puppies available to approved homes throughout Kentucky and across the United States.
Puppies are raised with an emphasis on early development, confidence, handling, exposure, and preparation for life beyond our kennel. We thoughtfully match each puppy according to temperament, drive, personality, and each family’s goals.
Our Process
Secure Your Spot
Join our waiting list with a deposit to secure your place for an available puppy. You may note sex or color preferences, but puppies are not selected at this stage.
Puppy Evaluations
Around 8 weeks, we evaluate each puppy's temperament, drive, confidence, energy level, and personality to determine where they are most likely to thrive.
Matched to your home
Using those evaluations and your family's lifestyle, experience, and goals, we thoughtfully match each puppy with the home we believe fits them best.
